Homecoming Halloween

Halloween was Friday night football and homeoming for us. The school organized a trunk or treat for the families that had younger kids so they wouldn't miss out on trick or treating. We passed out candy from our car and set up a little putting green for the kids. Chloe enjoyed going from car to car collecting her loot. She has an untameable sweet tooth, so she loved ALL the candy! This was our first time ever to miss our traditional time of trick or treating in our neighborhood. Drew was pretty bummed about it so I bought him his own large stash of some of his favorite candies. Kellan and Ryan were happy to give up the trick or treating experiene to play football. But, I still made them a treat bag of candy too.

This was our last game of the season. We lost the game and the chance to go to the playoffs. But Ryan was happy that he got to play in another varsity game. We are proud of the team for a great season. The guys and coaches always do a wonderful job of honoring God and setting a positive Christian example whether they win or lose. We will look forward to the playoffs next year.

Thunder and Lightening

Thought you might enjoy a glimpse of a little after dinner entertainment at our house.

When you see me walk by you can't hear me, but I'm saying, "Kellan the next trip to the emergency room you are going to be the one waiting with your brother for 4 hours." I said that because the night before I was with Ryan at the emergency room after a "friendly" encounter with his brother. We thought he might have a concussion-but he didn't! I'm so happy my life isn't dull.

Rare Footage

Yesterday, Kellan ran in the MPSA State Cross Country Championships. He placed 4th overall and made the "All State" roster, with a time of 19:54 in the 5K run (3.1 miles). The boys team placed 3rd of all the schools represented and the girls team placed 2nd. Kellan received a ribbon and a plaque. After much coaxing and a promise to relieve him of after dinner kitchen clean up, he "allowed" me to take these rare photos of him. Take a look at these:

WAY TO GO KELLAN!!! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU! AS ALWAYS
Then there is Chloe. She did not have to be coaxed at all...

We are proud of you too Chloe!

Football Football Football

Football has been in full swing since school started. Kellan and Ryan play for their school. Ryan plays for the Jr High Team and Kellan for the Varsity Team. If they aren't at practice or a game, they seem to be in the backyard with friends knocking the ole pigskin and each other around. Once they discovered the joy of football in the rain and mud, it has been hard to keep them out the mud. They believe nothing can stop them now. I have tried to convince them that playing in the rain and mud was a very special occasion and not something to be done every time it rains. I believe that this is a once a year privilege-maybe even every other year! I have yet to convince them of this. Luckily we have an outside shower for them to use. (a must if you have boys) Even after the outside shower and 2 inside showers, I still had to use multiple qtips and water to clean out their ears. That's 6 ears! My boys only, not the whole neighborhood!

So, when I'm not cleaning out muddy ears and showers and feeding hungry football players we are in route to and from practice and games. They practice everyday with games on Thursday and Friday. Kellan even goes to weights and to view films on Saturday! The practices, this mom doesn't enjoy. They throw our schedule off and everyone knows how I like a schedule! But the boys are staying "fit" and are happy, so that is all that really matters. We still manage to sit down to dinner together most nights-even though it's never at the same time each night!
I do enjoy going to the games. I really cannot "talk" football, that is something I need to get Dad to post about. I can't even tell you with confidence what positions Kellan and Ryan play. I know that they are doing really well though. Ryan has become more and more aggressive through out the season and is determined to get in there and hit hard! Kellan has scored 2 touchdowns and ran a lot of yard. I'm always proud of them both!

Chloe and I don't get to watch a lot of the game. We spend more time climbing bleachers, looking for the closest bathroom, eating Ring Pops, and trying to determine the best way to get out on the field to "My Boys".

As you can see, Daddy is not in any of the pictures. That's because he is the one that does such a good job taking pictures and video-but he IS there! Since he's not in the pictures, I did decide to post a picture of his truck. He and Drew went 4 wheeling in the mud and got themselves into a bit of a sticky situation. They finally had to get the Suburban to pull the Range Rover out! Mama to the rescue!(not really, just my truck-I wasn't even there!) Needless to say, "A good time was had by all!)

Confession Time: As I have been giving Chloe's Blog a facelift and getting our family blog up and running, I have neglected my family and home for at least 3 days! I am going to try to stay away from here for a few days. My family needs clean underwear-especially Chloe!!
